Sunday Snapshots – 1943

Sunday Snapshots logo - Alex Inspired

Today’s Sunday snapshots were all taken by my Nana, Glenna Golden (nee Hare). Her pictures illuminate the year 1943 in Moncton, New Brunswick.

During this time, Moncton was part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan – a program to train Allied air crews during the Second World War. Service Flying Training Schools were run by the RCAF and the RAF. Her photos give us a very Canadian “Bomb Girls-esque” peek into events, friendships, technology and architecture of the time.

I think I know where I may have inherited my love for photography…

Hope you enjoy Sunday Snapshots – 1943
